First of 10 weekly sessions "Befriending the Unknown -- A Circle of Trust Exploration."  Every Tuesday from October 4 to December 6; 6:30 to 8:30 PM.  This is a small group dialogue setting to explore with other committed participants the notion of "befriending the unknown" - the territory of change, mystery, transition, death and dying. "Dia de los Muertos" (Day of the Dead) Celebrating 40 Years of Art and Culture at La Casa de la Raza, 601 East Montecito Street, Santa Barbara, CA. 93103.  Procession starts promptly at 6 PM.  This free, family-themed event will include an altar exhibit featuring the art of Cultura y Mas, Paty Diaz, Sofia Jurado, Veronica Xochitl Valadez, Lisa Valencia-Sheratt, Alejandro Vazquez, Carlos Cuellar and more. On our main stage we will have performances by spoken word artist Fe Montes, artist Fe Montes, guitar ensamble La Rondalla de la Raza, Son jarocho Mar y Luna. Vendors selling authentic and origianal Mexican inspired artwork. As well as food, facepainting and dia de los muertos arts and crafts.
